Sometimes it just all comes together. A great subject in the perfect outfit(s), a dazzling smile and of course sheer genius behind the camera. (I’ll be signing autographs later;-) HAH!
Anyway, Caitlin was in last week for the Artist’s Choice session and we ended up with many, many, many wonderful images. I do not know how they are going to choose. After each session I choose six images as my Artist Choices. I do some retouching and these images are featured in the front of the seniors take home image catalog.
Here are three of my favorites from Caitlin’s session.

Marcus was in yesterday for a Senior’s Choice session and he’s a major athlete; football, lacrosse and hockey. We finished his formal images and I had him grab his hockey stick for this shot.

This is Mike and his session warranted two “picture(s) of the day”. He’s a bass player in a couple of local bands and told me they opened for Blue Oyster Cult last year at “Down by the Riverside”. (he did not score any points when he indicated that, “yes the BOC band members were old – about my age” – thanks Mike!;-) I couldn’t pick between these images so you get to see both.

Andrew was in for his 12 month portraits last week. Like a typical 12 month old he was busy busy busy. Mom tried using her phone to get his attention and keep him planted in one spot long enough for me to push the button. Imagine how he’ll laugh at the size of this phone when he’s in high school!

Paige was in last week for her senior session and wanted outdoor images at the Plummer House. We were all done and Mom asked if we could do one more in this purple shirt with the yellow lilies in the foreground. It was a late afternoon session and the “sweet light” was illuminating Paige’s hair perfectly. A little fill light, a beautiful smile, voila!

I love dogs – don’t think I’ve ever met one I didn’t like. Don’t get me wrong – Sam’s a nice guy too and this is his dog Max. Great name for a dog! He’s a Golden Retriever crossed with a Chow – he’s a big boy! And if you please – I should brag a little about this image. Notice the color harmony created by the bush tops and Max’s coat. Also consider the fact that there is a concrete sidewalk in front of them, a metal sign post to camera left and the parking ramp and cars to their immediate right and behind them. Testament to the fact that it doesn’t take much for a background to create a nice image. (At least it doesn’t if you’re a genius!!! Please – hold the applause until the end;-))
Have a wonderful weekend.
